For all-day pallet movement in a cash and carry or warehouse, order the 1500 kg Lithium Electric Pallet Truck. Go to the 2000 kg Lithium Electric Pallet Truck for drinks, flour, rice and mixed heavy pallets. Choose semi-electric when the effort is in the pushing, not the lifting. Keep a 2500 kg hand pallet truck as backup.

Lithium-ion electric pallet trucks: 1500 kg and 2000 kg
Both lithium electric pallet trucks are pedestrian operated. The operator walks behind the truck and steers with a tiller. Drive and lift are both powered, so the pallet moves and rises without pumping or pushing.

Electric pump truck, powered pallet truck, PPT, pedestrian pallet truck, walkie pallet truck and electric pallet jack are six names for one machine: a walk-behind pallet truck with battery drive and electric lift. Pump truck is the everyday UK name, walkie and pallet jack are the North American names, and PPT is the training term.

Made to order at our factory partners and delivered to your door by pallet carrier. Typical lead time 8 to 12 weeks from order confirmation. Deposit 30% on order, balance before despatch.

Choosing between 1500 kg and 2000 kg
Match the heaviest pallet you move, plus a margin. A 1500 kg truck covers most grocery, dry goods and cash and carry pallets. A full pallet of drinks, flour, rice, oil or tins can pass 1000 kg, and mixed heavy pallets vary from day to day, so those sites should choose 2000 kg.

Licence, training, PUWER and LOLER: what a buyer needs to know
No licence is needed to operate a pedestrian electric pallet truck in the UK. The employer must train the operator and check they are competent under PUWER 1998 regulation 9. An accredited pedestrian pallet truck course is the usual proof. Pallet trucks are lifting equipment, so plan a thorough examination every 12 months and daily pre-use checks.

We do not list a pallet truck with built-in scales. What is the difference between an electric pallet truck and a hand pallet truck?

An electric pallet truck drives and lifts at the touch of a button, so it suits heavier pallets, longer runs, ramps within the rated gradient and repeated tail-lift work. A hand pallet truck costs less and needs no charging. For occasional short moves buy hand; for all-day pallet movement buy electric.

Do you need a licence to operate an electric pallet truck in the UK?
No. There is no statutory licence for a pedestrian electric pallet truck. The employer must provide adequate training and check the operator is competent under PUWER 1998, regulation 9. An accredited pedestrian pallet truck course with a certificate is the usual proof, and basic recorded instruction is expected for hand pallet trucks. We supply new trucks; we do not run training courses.
How long does a lithium pallet truck battery last?
Lithium-ion is fitted to both models and the charger is included. Lithium packs need no water top-ups and are rated for many more charge cycles than lead-acid, so they normally outlast the truck's working life. The maker's run time, charge time and cycle rating for each model are supplied in writing with your quote, so you can match them to your shift pattern before you order.
Can an electric pallet truck be used on ramps, tail-lifts and outdoors?
Only within the gradient limit in the manufacturer's manual, which is confirmed with your quote. Pedestrian trucks of this class are commonly used inside lorries and on tail-lifts. Check the truck's service weight plus the pallet against your tail-lift rating. Plan on smooth, dry, level floors; ask us before specifying a truck for uneven, wet or gravel yards.
Do pallet trucks need a LOLER thorough examination?
Treat them as lifting equipment. LOLER requires a thorough examination of lifting equipment, at 12-month intervals for equipment that does not lift people, and most inspection providers include pallet trucks in that programme. Pallet trucks are always work equipment under PUWER 1998, so add daily pre-use checks by the operator. This applies to hand, semi-electric and electric models. Book examinations through your usual inspection provider.
How much does an electric pallet truck weigh?
The confirmed service weight of each truck, with the battery fitted, is supplied in writing with your quote. You need it for two checks: the truck weight plus your heaviest pallet against the tail-lift rating, and the floor loading in any mezzanine or lift. Do you sell a 3000 kg electric pallet truck?
No. The 2000 kg lithium model is the highest-capacity electric pallet truck we sell, and it covers drinks, flour, rice and mixed heavy pallets in most cash and carry and wholesale work. Our 2500 kg model is a hand pallet truck. If you need 3000 kg electric, message us on WhatsApp and we will tell you whether our factory partners can quote it.
Is a pallet jack or walkie the same as an electric pallet truck?
Yes. Pallet jack and walkie are the North American names for the machine UK buyers call an electric pallet truck, powered pallet truck or electric pump truck. A walkie is simply a walk-behind, pedestrian-operated truck. Both lithium models on this page are walkie trucks in that sense. A hand pallet jack with no motor is a hand pallet truck or pump truck.
